Wedding disco Lord Poulett Arms, Hinton St George Somerset Saturday 8th December

Despite what some people might think couples do get married at Christmas time. I have two weddings in December, scattered amongst the office parties. Here was the first, in a beautiful little pub in Hinton St George in Somerset. When I say little, I mean a perfect sized pub, but fill it with around 70 young adults, seriously out to party and it soon gets a little 'busy'.

Somewhere in there the first dance is happening 

I was to play the first dance and then hand over my equipment (not something I do very easily) to two friends and work colleagues of the bride who wanted to do a 45 minutes DJ set, known as the Two Wrong Blondes.

Normally when I start a wedding reception disco I ease people in gently, warming them up with some soul, some funk and maybe a little disco. However the Two Wrong Blondes basically went from 0 - 60 in 30 seconds flat which worked a treat for the guests as everyone knew what to expect.

The pace was increased even more when the brides father joined in with his trumpet on Beyonce's Crazy in Love. Bare in mind it's about 8.15pm. 'Follow that!' I worried. Actually they'd done a brilliant job of getting everyone going and as there were no children and only half a dozen 'non 20 - 30 somethings' it was fine. I just wouldn't advise it for most of the weddings I DJ. So on I went and things carried on in a similar vain until the 'far too early to finish' time of 11pm. An incredible night.
