90th Birthday party - Ex-serviceman's Club, Weston, Bath 29/11/13

I must admit I was a initially a little unsure as to what would be expected of a disco at a 90th Birthday. The family of the Birthday boy knew that a little entertainment in the form of some disco lights and music would be good to keep a medium sized room of guests happy - and who was I to deny them this.

The briefing I'd received from the client was to play some popular tunes from the 1940s, 50s and 60s so I stuck mainly to this - apart from several requests for Michael Jackson from a young lad who'd obviously been spending many hours in his room perfecting routines. This really pleased the guests and there was a big round of applause after each dance.

I must admit that I enjoyed myself more than I expected too. I loved re-discovering some of the older songs in my library - songs that I rarely get to play for more than 15 minutes. Afterwards the family showed their appreciation and sent an email the following day thanking me for the music I played - it was just what they wanted.
