Well it would've been a surprise if I hadn't got to the venue at the agreed time, found it locked up and empty and phoned the lady who's mother's birthday it was and left a message...
Unbeknownst to me the birthday girl had picked up her daughters mobile and saw my name come up as 'DJ Chris', she'd then handed the phone to her daughter saying, "Er, I don't think I should've seen this." There are a few lessons to be learnt from that I think!
The evenings music was quite eclectic as there was a dozen pre-teen children wanting the latest chart songs, a large group of people wanting to dance to some disco and party numbers and the lady who's birthday it was wanting reggae and r'n'b. All in a days work for a wedding DJ!
As the guests were pouring in the door (forgive the pun) the heavens opened which inspired my choice of two songs after the initial 'Happy birthday' number when the birthday girl made her entrance.
I calmed the pace of the music down between 8.30 - 9pm whilst everyone helped themselves to the buffet, but other than that it was a straight 4 hours of non stop dancing and partying. Good times!
