40th birthday party disco, Racks, Bristol, Saturday 15th September 2012

I'm 40 myself in a few months time, so I would've been disappointed if I didn't 'ace' this double 40th birthday party at Racks wine bar in Clifton, Bristol. I'm pleased to say however it was a great night with loads of energetic dancing for over 2 and a half hours.

I'd been in contact with the two ladies who's joint 40th it was at length regarding the playlist for the night. One of them was into their indie music, the other early 90's dance music and they both liked some modern classics, so it was a mixture of all of them with the usual requests from guests.

Racks hadn't changed much in the two years since I'd last played there - at another joint 40th birthday funnily enough, it was still as relaxed and friendly as ever. It's funny seeing a place go from from being a laid back lounge bar at the start of the evening to a packed banging dance floor in only a matter of hours.
