Wedding disco - Webbington Hotel, Somerset, 13th April 2013

With little time to recover from the previous nights wedding disco at Coombe Lodge, it was off to the Bleadon Suite of the Webbington Hotel in Somerset for Emma and Mike's Wedding reception.

It was August last year when I last DJ'ed here and it still remains the best venue for equipment access I've ever been to - naturally this isn't important knowledge for most potential Bride's and Groom's but it had to be said nonetheless!

I'd visited Emma and Mike at their home several months before and we'd discussed their individual musical tastes at length. Whilst Emma liked her dance music Mike was more of a rocker, however they both loved their 90's Garage - or 'Kisstory'.

With a wide selection of age groups at the evening do (as always) it was important to cover all bases. However after the first dance it was proving difficult to get the rest of the guests up and dancing. After trying for some time I realised that they were just waiting for the buffet to start at 9pm - and I was right, they were quick off the blocks as soon as I made the announcement. Whilst everyone was eating I turned the music down and slowly built up the pace again as they were finishing, by 10pm the dance floor was full, although that meant that we only had two hours of dancing left!

Still, in those two hours we had a great time and covered many genres of music - including a small garage set that went down really well. But don't just take my word for it, here is a message I received from Emma a few days afterwards:
