Wedding disco - Holcombe Inn near Wells, 7/9/13

The Holcombe Inn was a bit of a revelation to me as a Wedding reception venue. As gastro pubs go this is right up there and more importantly it's retained it's local feel. They only have a handful of Weddings here a year so I consider myself very lucky to have DJ'ed in such a gorgeous little venue.

When I met up with the Bride and Groom at their home it was clear that there was going to be quite a mixture of musical tastes to be catered for. All in a days work for a mobile DJ you might say but as the Bride was from Germany and the Groom from Wales there were two very different sides of the family to keep happy.

With the Groom into his 80's music and the Bride's side more into their Euro anthems I always knew it would be an interesting challenge. However I managed to steer a path through the middle ground and kept both sides happy - with lots of requests as usual.

Before things kicked off the Bride and Groom had got me to produce a 3 minute first dance mix surprise that no one else knew about. They had also choreographed their own dance. Superb!
